Mobile Work Crews | | |
The Mobile Work Crews provide employment and job skills training to small groups of individuals in a variety of community job settings. The Mobile Work Crews go from job to job working as sub-contractors of different employers. There is a working supervisor that provides skills training, supervision, and works to complete the assigned tasks within the allotted time. This program provides transferrable work skills and increases independence of the program participants. Crews begin as early as 5:30am and end as late as 9:00pm. Currently, the Center operates nine Mobile Work Crews. There is a crew that empties parking meters for the City of West Palm Beach. Janitorial crews are provided for the City of Atlantis Administrative Offices, the City of Boynton Beach Administrative Offices and two Water Treatment plants, the Department of Transportation Administrative Offices, a Nature Preserve, a Wildlife Refuge, and the Center contracts with the crew to provide janitorial services.
