Tom Fazio a big hit with the Centurions!

Tom
Fazio, the legendary golf course designer, was the featured speaker at the
Atlantis Golf Club at the Centurions Annual Cocktail Reception on Tuesday,
January 19th. Tom, affectionately called
the 800-pound gorilla of golf course architecture, entertained the 125 guests
with stories of how he got started in the business, about different golf
courses around the country, and took the time to answer questions. An
added bonus was that each guest who attended and made a minimum donation of
$100 received an autographed copy of Tom's book!
The
Centurions, which was founded in 1994, is a group of men who raise money for
capital expenditures and repairs at the Palm Beach Habilitation
Center each year. To-date they have raised over $1.2 million
dollars. The money raised by the Centurion this year is earmarked for the Work
Operations Department, to ensure that the Center can continue to train men and
women with disabilities for community employment.
The
Centurions, chaired by Otis Brown, include Sandy Beach,
Bill Benton, Harry Kennedy, John Farmer, Carl Palmisano, Bobby
Pastorius, Bryan Meumann, Bud
Tuppen, David Stenson,
and David Hawkey.
