The first group of interns consisted of Laura Carberry, Jennifer Caupain, Mayte Perez, and Jennifer Reagan.  During their time at the
Center, the interns observed  and assisted individuals in the Production Areas, Adult Skills Acquisition Program, and STARS program.
They completed healthcare and physical wellness assessments with members of the Connect for Health Program.  The interns led an
activity which focused on improving oral hygiene.  They set up a program in which participants learned the importance of flossing their
teeth, brushing their teeth, and using mouthwash correctly.  Many participants in the Connect for Health Program recognized the need for
proper oral care, yet they stated they were afraid of dentists and flossing their teeth.  The interns presented an interactive activity in which
participants were able to learn proper techniques to flossing and brushing their teeth while minimizing discomfort.  The clients, interns, and
staff members agreed that the first experience was a very positive one for all concerned.  Everyone at the PB Hab Center wish our interns
the best as they work toward completing their goal of becoming Occupational Therapists.
