LAKE WORTH, Fla. – May 8, 2015– The buildings and grounds of the Palm Beach Habilitation Center (PBHC) are looking brighter thanks to a local partnership between Comcast and the Center in Lake Worth for the 14th annual Comcast Cares Day that took place on Saturday, April 25.
On Comcast Cares Day, hundreds of local Comcast employees, their friends and families and community volunteers worked on a variety of activities to improve the PBHC for the individuals with disabilities who learn and work there. Projects included cleaning, painting, landscaping, planting a butterfly garden and more.
Palm Beach County Mayor Shelley Vana attended the event and issued a proclamation declaring the day as “Comcast Cares Day” for the county.
Comcast Cares Day is the company’s signature day of service and the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer effort. Across Florida this year, more than 7,000 volunteers worked together on over 120 Comcast Cares Day projects from the Panhandle down to the Florida Keys.
