NonProfits Times' 50 BEST Nonprofits to Work for 2011

Palm Beach Habilitation Center Named One of the Best NonProfit Organizations to Work 2011 by NonProfit Times and the Best Companies Group!

Babbette Wolff, Board Chair, and Tina Philips, President/CEO, are proud to announce that Palm Beach Habilitation Center Inc. was recently selected as one of the Best NonProfit Organizations to Work for 2011.  The awards program was created in 2010 and is a project of The NonProfit Times and Best Companies Group. This nationwide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in the nonprofit industry, benefiting the industry's economy, its workforce and businesses.

The Best NonProfit Organizations to Work for 2011 list is made up of 50 organizations. The Palm Beach Habilitation Center was profiled and ranked 44th overall and 18th in the Medium Organizations (50-249 employees) category in The NonProfit Times April 1, 2011 issue.

Babbette, a Palm Beach resident, has Chaired the Hab Center Board of Directors for many years.  The Hab Center opened a new group home five years ago in her honor, the Babbette Wolff Group Residence.  Tina has been the President/CEO of the Center for more than 27 years.  This national recognition is a tribute to what two focused, energetic, and dedicated women can do when they set their mind to it.  In this financially challenging time for nonprofits that serve the disabled, this award is one of the few good things that we can share with our community.

Organizations from across the nation entered the two-part process to determine the Best NonProfit Organizations to Work for.  The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated organization's workplace policies, practices, and demographics.  This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.  The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.  This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation.  The combined scores determined the top organizations and the final ranking.  Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in the United States and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
